New Super Mario Bros.
Welcome back, Mario. We missed you.

New Super Mario Bros. is a terrific 2D side-scroller that makes you think of the old games but never feels like it’s just cashing in on past success.

The first new 2D Mario platformer since Super Mario World has arrived. Boasting “incredible” 3D graphics to accompany classic 2D gameplay, this fast-paced adventure will have Mario fans cheering as they make their way over fields, under water, through castles and into the air. New and familiar enemies are everywhere, not to mention “mind-blowing” challenges made possible by the dual screens of the Nintendo DS. Not only that, but players can link wirelessly with a friend to play as both Mario and Luigi in multiplayer mode.

“I really like how this game is based on the first 3 original Super Mario Bros. games and then adds its own twists to make it its own masterpiece. You can’t go wrong with classic Mario and the unique additions make it an interesting new addition to the classic Mario series.”

“Its appealing to little kids and adults go “Oh look at that” and even old timers will say that not the Mario i remember!. But itw ill remind them since everything about this game is like the orinignal. Nintendo did a great job of taking the old mario games elements and meshing them in with new features. This game is wonderfull and the graphics are the best for the DS.
The gameplay is what you would expect from Mario. Of course you can get your wild mushrooms and up-grades and you of course save miss peach. The upgrades are really cool in this game. You have big mario mushroom, fire, turtle, ice and all these cool things. And of course the big daddy of upgrades the GIANT MUSHROOM. You literally turn huge and mash everybody and everything. The new things mario can do are cool to. He can sprint, slide, and do butt smashs.”

“This is a great platforming game like most Mario games and is a great update of the same old successful formula. This game reminds me a lot of Super Mario Brothers 3 with 8 worlds you have to complete and fun transformations for Mario to use to complete his adventure. The greatest transformation is the giant mushroom that makes Mario giant and you can smash through the level quickly and powerfully. On the opposite side you have the mini mushroom that makes Mario tiny in order to walk on water, jump higher, jump off walls, or go down tiny pipes. The other costumes are similar to previous games, but no racoon cape.”

Sound: Another department that also shines lies in the upbeat, catchy music that plays in each level. Some of these tunes will be forever embedded into your mind after first treating the ears to them. And while most but not all of them are surefire winners, each fits it’s destinations design and theme to a T! Sound effects are as you’d expect. Mario speaks in his usual tone of jibber-jabber that mostly consist of “mamma mia,” and “oh no!”. The familiar sounds of grabbing 1-ups and bopping Koopa shells are also present and sound exactly as you remember them.”
